Two weeks from now Frank and I will begin our Chinese lessons -- the objective is to at least learn some basics before we move to Tianjin in the fall.
"I wonder," I said when we were looking at the script this morning, "who of us will pick up on it more quickly."
"That I can tell you right away," Frank answered spontaneously: "it won't be me."
Actually, it is true that I am just a tiny little bit better at learning foreign languages, but when it comes to Chinese I'm afraid it will be a tight call.
